Our club has been greatly blessed during its 86 years of existence with a wonderful membership that makes so much happen. To that end, we invite more people to consider joining our club.

In our 87th year of service!

The Marshalltown club (also known informally as the Noon” Kiwanis Club or the Nooners) was the first Kiwanis club formed in our community. Members meet at 12 noon every Tuesday at the Best Western Regency Inn, junction of Hwys 30 and 14. We invite you to visit.

Upcoming Events

Text Box: Pancake Day, started by our club in 1955, is a major fund-raiser for all three clubs. It will be held Sat, Oct. 27. 2007. 
Kiwanis Park was donated to the City of Marshalltown in 1974. Improvements and upgrades were begun in 1996.
Annual MCC Scholarships awarded to two (2)  Marshalltown Community College students, through gumball sales
Franklin Field, site of many youth-oriented sporting events
Start-up of Marshalltown Little League
Contributions to the MHS/Community Auditorium, the Pleasant Hill pool; the Emergency Food Box; other projects

First BuckleBear in Iowa, promotes the use of safety seats and seat belts. Car accidents are #1 killer of small children.
Our concession trailer, featured at MHS home football games, is available for your next event.

Here are some special highlights over 86 years:

We will be serving up another pancake breakfast on Saturday, May 3, at New Hope Christian Church. This event is to thank Marshall County area volunteers for all their good work.

 

The club’s annual Prayer Breakfast is 6:30 a.m. Wed., May 7, at the Salvation Army. Bobby Shomo will speak on Amazing Grace.

 

The Annual Club Meeting/Election of Officers will be May 13, 2008. The nominating committee will announce the slate of candidates at the April 29 and May 6 meetings.

 

We will honor Past District Governor Carl Hays with a root beer float social at Southridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 28.

 

Club member Linda Dodd Smith will be traveling to Ashland, Nebraska, May 2 and 3 to go through lieutenant governor training for 2008-09.

 

The Club Leadership Education training for Division 10 will be at the Marshalltown Salvation Army Community Center on Saturday, May 31. More information is found on the home page.
